DDC-6 State of New York

The National Safety Council's six-hour Defensive Driving Course is approved by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles under the Point & Insurance Reduction Program. Completion of the DDC-6-NY program will:

• Reduce auto insurance rates. Motorists may be eligible to receive up to a 10% discount on the base rate of their automobile and motorcycle liability and collision insurance premiums each year for three years. The three year discount will apply to premium on vehicles for which the motorist is listed as principal operator.
• Reduce violation points. Motorists may be eligible to reduce as many as four (4) points on their driving record for violations that were incurred within 18 months prior to course completion.
